Fundamentals of Information Security
This course introduces the learner to the fundamentals concepts of information security such as security objectives - confidentiality, integrity & availability; security terminology - vulnerability, threat, asset,etc. This course also introduces the learner to the cyber threats to information, networks, and application software and some important safeguards that address these threats.
What you will learn
By the end of the course, you will be able to differentiate the objectives of information security – confidentiality, integrity and availability, understand information security terminologies, differentiate symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, understand the concept of hashing and generation of digital signatures, understand the functioning of common network security technologies like firewall, IDS and also understand why application security is necessary in ensuring information security.
